New Semester, New Home

New semester begins at new home in a new environment with more people in da same house, but I have my own room of privacy!!! Here are some photos on my host family, Mr. & Mrs Jo & their two sons during dinner on one weekend~

We live in a comfy apartment in da city & I m teaching da kids English few times a week in exchange of my stay~

I finally bought my own cute yet slightly-bigger-than-breakfast table, which is commonly used among Koreans coz they juz sit on floor to work & this is super comfy & space-saving~

My room was previously their study room, so it's juz fits for two persons in this room & me wif new haircut~

T-Music Festival 2009

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of updates as not much excitement taking place of late. The only hip thing that i can crap about was the “T Music Festival 2009” which was a 5-hour long marathon concert (^-^)v

Armed with the cheapest free seating ticket-rm68/each, me and mum walked in Bukit Jalil Stadium on Sept. 12 to catch the star-studded concert which featured some of the big stars coming from Hong Kong and Taiwan include Joey Yung, David Tao, Justin, Kay Tse, Khalil Fong, Kenny Kwan, Soler, Power Station and Sam Lee along with some Mainland singers.

I personally luv Soler and Power Station for their stage-shaking performance (U GUYS ROCKSS!!!) There were event heart throbs from Thailand and of one would be Chin performing with his flamboyant moves and dashing boyish look managed to catch our Bunny’s attention *winks* However, when Chin was performing, a ‘boom’ sound was heard and the screens went off. There were smokes coming out from the tent and i assumed a fire was taking place. But, they managed to put off in afew minutes. Meantime, the stage area was a complete blackout and the emcees of the night, Nicholas (MYFM DJ), Ngan Mei Yan (MYFM DJ) & Cheung King Fung from HK were pro enuf to control the crowd as well as keeping them though some were seen to be leaving when the blackout happened. I dunno why, it somehow brought back some of the scenes in Final Destination 4 seems to be surreal, shucks! Niway, coming back, some artists like Justin, Kay Tse and David came out to sing through a loudspeaker hoping to keep the crowd entertained until the audio and lighting system recovered.

I heard from the Galaxy crew saying that the TNB team was trying to fix the problem and recovered the power. From lights to audio, the system was recovered in approximate 30 minutes. The show still goes on with the renditions of famous K-ballads from Khalil Fong’s “Love Song”, “Ai Ai Ai” and “Nothing's gonna change my love for you” , Eric Lim’s "Wo Ting Jian You Ren Jiao Ni Bao Bei" and Kay Tse’s “Hei Tip Kai” and “Nin Dou Zhi Kor” are all of my personal favs. which got the crowd sang along too^^

The local ones like Z-Chen and ManHand were equally compatible. Z-Chen started off song with “Kuai Le” and to the upbeat and latest new song “Mi Wei Jen” were not bad. The technical problem hit in when the music he sang stopped half way and being a pro, he managed to joke wif us by saying "So you guys sure want me be emcee? Ok, i’ll become". ︸_︸ Sam Lee was another crowd fav. with his heart-wrenching love ballads and he was D only singer that received flower from fans that night. *weet weet*(*^‧^*)

Justin, David and Joey were powerful vocalists which caught the crowd screaming frenzily when Justin appeared on the stage wif his all time clubbers fav. song: Vola followed by K-fans favs: Kuet Jin Yi Sai Jou, Meng Ngan and Nam Yan KTV! I was about surprised when David popped out before Joey. He sang two new songs which i can’t recalled and none other than his ever famous “Ai Hen Jian Tan” when everyone sang along. Finally, the last singer whom appeared was none other than Joey. Her opening song was “Yuet Cheong Yuet Keong” which seen the crowd started to sneak out including me hehe i heard poor Joey saying “I saw so many of you leaving, i’m scared...” P/S: Sorry, i wish to stay but it is already 1.30am and i’m scare too!!! of jam...and my butt hurts...”

Overall it was good show despite the minor glitches and the night was a blast with FIRE, FIREworks and FIRED-UP singers!!!

I'm doin good lately^^ This coming Hari Raya I'll be goin to Cameron Highlands with family..(YAHOO!!!) though it'll be a short 2D1N trip. Then, Monday i'll have to rush bec from Cameron to attend SUe Ann's wedding.
Gosh, real lot of ppls getting married lately...Real happy for these blissful couples^^ By da way, I've found a new hobby lately...It's COOKING&BAKING!!! Baked Chocolate chips + Corn cookies the other day & got good feedbacks from my colleagues^^ Goin to try new stuffs later.

Day 423: Travel Is The Best Medicine

*Sigh*~This blog is pretty much abandoned ler & I m like syiok sendiri saja coz no one updating it liao xcept me*SOb*Sob*Hugs Sqrt64 photo frame*Juz a short update after I balik from KL b4 more updates on my new homestay life wif Korean family~

Summer break is coming to an end in a week's time & Shelly is back in KL by now (T_T) Met up briefly juz a day before she flew back & gosh~she will spend more time back home longer i did!!!

Due to unforseen factors, I din get to linger more than 2 weeks back in KL, after a year being deprieved of nasi lemak & cantonese fried~Wish I could stay longer to be with my family & meet up with my nephews....Even one of my dogs can barely recognize me*sob*sob*

Spent 2 weeks in Sydney after my last visit a decade ago, but by Day 9, I realized although Opera House & Vietnamese sandwiches are my fav memory of da Down Under, but shopping malls closing at 4pm(!!!) & nothing much 2 window shop even on weekend are insane!!! Sigh~Wat to do ler, as Aussies are famous for their laidback lifestyle~

By da end of July, was back in Seoul & sick (not from HlNl!!) & subsequently lost 2kg by 2nd week~With weeks 'til da end of summer break, me & my former roomate, Sasha, headed to travel agency & booked ourselves flight tics & 2-star hotel for 6D5N in Beijing!!! One of my best decisions ever made!!!

Few days later, armed wif my fav Lonely Planet (as thick as my Chinese dictionary!!) & lotsa prayers, we found ourselves in an adventure in one of da most $$$ cities in China~More updates on pics can b found in FB liao~

End of Semester

To commemorate the 1st anniversary of SichuanEarthquake victims on May 12th with the other Chinese students...
University's annual festival, which fell on the 1st day of my final Korean test (T_T)
Funny performances, games, food stalls, pottery-making workshops all done by students~
This pottery workshop was riding on da fame of BOF, where one of da actors is a talented pottery-maker~
At nites, food stalls & mini dance floors popped up almoz everywhere~
Celebration of da end of Korean Level 4 class~
To celebrate Wen Wen's belated burfday as well~
As soon as da party ended, headed to the Kangnam's Express Bus Station to board a bus to Gwangju~

Sceneries along the journey reminded me of home...
Met up wif Shelly to attend a youth festival in Gwangju & had supper at a nice cafe near her dorm~
Yummy tiramisu & ice-cream wif waffle~
Exhausted by da end of da day~
My Russian roomate, Sasha & some other scholarship students surprised me wif a burfday cake at da strike of 12pm~
My burfday fell on Sunday & after da usual service, went celebrating wif churchmates~
Reached dorm & enjoyed da cakes wif da rest of da gals~
Packed up & went 2 meet Shelly, who came all da way to Seoul 2 celebrate wif me~
We had great dinner at Outback Steakhouse before walking in for some neo-stickers~
It's been reli a looooooooooooooooong time since I had these~
Joining us is our Korean fren, Esther & after she left, had more cakes at a cafe in Myeongdong, while Shelly surfed~
Spent da nite out & on da next day before sending Shelly back, had a mouthwatering Indian meal at a posh Indian restaurant in Itaewon~
The best tandoori ever had~
Presentation, tests & my first semester in Korea had finally ended~
Went for this 8,800won (RM 24) per person in all-u-can-eat grilled meat buffet!!!
Huey's lovely burfday card had arrived & thanxxxxxx so much~Misssssssss u too~A pic of dawn from my room~I have already moved in with a Korean family, for homestay juz for next semester, before moving out again (and hopefully, for da last time) in Nov-Dec to my own home permanently~3days before the flight!!!!Can't wait!!!!

Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam

Last week I had a brief breakaway from the normal dating activities with my dear dear to Bukit Cahaya located in Shah Alam.（*^＠^*） I’ve heard of it so much but never got the chance to tour around until recent. There were actually many names given to this place, i.e: Bukit Cerakah (accd.to Andrea) and Taman Pertanian Shah Alam but I guess they settle for the aptly named, Bukit Cahaya.

Prior to entering, we had to pay an entrance fee of RM3/adults and RM1/ kids. Car park: RM1/entry.

We kicked start our little adventure by trying out the many bikes there. FYI, the bikes are hot in demand, people came in as early as 8am to get on their hands with the bikes and left us with some the not so cool ones >_<>_< class="MsoNormal">TIPS: Reach slightly earlier say about, 8am to book your bike, limited bikes available!!!

Our first stop, Taman Padi (**reminds me of those” balik kampung” scenes)

We then make our way to Taman Hiasan where I had the most fun taking beautiful shots of flowers（*^﹏^*）

I was trying to snap one shot with the butterfly or at least bee on the flowers in Taman Perhiasan but only to end up scaring them away (＞﹏＜）Fate it seems, one particular butterfly flew to my bike! At that point, I discreetly took a shot on her beauty and as if she accustomed to doing that, she posed steadily on the bike（*^＠^*)

We then proceeded to our last stop, Rumah Iklim or they called it "Four Seasons Temperate Garden" which was the highlight of our trip. In case you are wondering, they simulate the four seasons in this controlled chamber and I guess it costs pretty much for maintenance. FYI: RM3/adults entrance.

It was late spring and it was all breezy in there after a hot day outdoor with varieties of pretty flowers.

P/S: There’s actually some heart-pumping activities for hard-cores like Bunny namely the Skytrex High Elements/Flying Fox Adventure there. FYI: rates: RM35/ adults aged 16 and above. Go-getters: you will have a chance to stand, climb, walk, swingi and zip as high as 22 meters off the ground. For adrenaline rush seekers, just bring it on!

Spring is in da air now!!! Best of all, I have juz completed my Korean Level 4 & thus, more time to spend on my major classes' assignments, to rest after a hectic 3months-of-10am-to-6pm classes & of coz, updates along da way~

Shelly first visit to Myeongdong in Seoul after her arrival 2months ago & my fav duo, FlyToTheSky happened to be there for a mini show to promote Earth Day~YEAHHHHH!!!! I thought I won't survive da crushing crowd & screaming gals, to share this exclusive story wif u all~

Dinner gathering+burfday celebration wif my Korean Level 4 classmates (all from China)~Despite their young age, some beer-drinking capabilities are so unbelievable ler while me & my class teacher were da only ones clutching our Coke bottles throughout da dinner~
Along wif 2 of our teachers, Ms Choi, our class teacher, who sponsored da yummy burfday cake~

2009 MUSIC-MAN Concert in Malaysia ^^

Riding on the success of Lee Hom’s MUSIC-MAN concert in Taipei, the MUSIC-MAN concert has finally arrived in Malaysia by giving the much anticipated concert of the year. As an avid fan whom never fail to buy some of his latest original albums and attend most of his meet-the-fans sessions, it’s a failure to say that I’ve never been to his concert. So, this time round, I’m not gonna MISS it! *Roars*

Inspired by Lee Hom’s favourite childhood superheroes like Batman, Spiderman, Superman and to name a few, the concert is dubbed MUSIC-MAN and naturally it revolves around the many visual displays of comics throughout the night; depicting the man as a superhero. Surrounded with strong audio effects and with stylo displays of superheroes characteristics under the illuminating lights gives an overall futuristic feel to the concert. The 20k crowd that night was ecstatic when the MUSIC-MAN’s much acclaimed instrument, the “Bahamut” (custom-made electric guitar with 3D dragon artwork) was suspended mid-air to signal the commencement of the concert, WEEE!!!!

The two slightly protruding vertical LCD screens on both left and right sides on the stage presenting the MUSIC-MAN whom appeared with dashingly-manly look with sparkly glitter hairdo, a slight resemblance of Elvis-Presley hairstyle and in great physique to match his equally eye-catching superhero-infused costume. Confidently obscured his weapon, the man delivered with a bang with his none other rocking new song; 搖滾怎麼了. The mood of the night was instantly liven up with frenzy crowd singing along “WOO WOO WOO, whats wrong with me WO O O with me”...The rocking atmosphere geared upward when he belted out “W-H-Y”, 花田錯 and 龍的傳人. Everyone got so hyper including the late 20s and early 30s dudes who sat beside me; sang and screamed at the top of their voices as if they were having their own concert. Well, I had my fair share too ;p NOTE: Not sure about Bunny ;p

The roars dwindled when the MUSIC-MAN began his renditions of a series of ballads from his earlier albums like 安全感, 流淚手心, 如果你聽見我的歌 to the much hyped ballads like第一個清晨, “Forever Love” and from the latest album 心跳. The fans were hypnotised with his lovey-dovey performance and were all harmonised to sing along. The feel was just so good with the concert filled with love airs.

Akin to a roller coaster ride, the mood is heightened up again after the series of notable love ballads with compelling naughty pops like竹林深處 , 女朋友 and his new song 愛的得體 with the introduction of his pussy-cats dancers from various countries. Accompanied by the abstract visual effects and blasting sound systems, we were all hyper once again. Then, came a trick of the night, we were conned by a little acting of the MUSIC-MAN himself when he dressed immaculately in all blue coat and claimed that he’s “Xiao Lan” whom showed the timid side of him till he “changed” himself. 改變自己 befitted the short acting and MUSIC-MAN put himself into a few roles such as the drummer, guitarist, bass guitarist, and the soloist singer. Judging from the screen, all four appeared to be Lee Hom and appeared on stage simultaneously. Something different and the crowd was evidently loving the surprises and cheered to the different facets of the MUSIC-MAN.

The show continues to WOW the audiences with the performance of the multi-talented MUSIC-MAN; a violin solo on “Wish Upon A Star” which mesmerizes the audiences to the max. This was followed by his very own rendition of 落葉歸根 which showed snippets of his role in “Lust-Caution” further left the crowd gasping in awe and holding back their tears (for some).I personally like this part as it was simple yet touching ^^

It was not long after that the glistened tears were quickly dried up when MUSIC-MAN took an abrupt change in his performance by doing a dance solo alongside with other professional dancers. The mood was instantly livened up and I can tell Lee Hom really worked damn hard for this concert. At one point, i was thinking that if he would ever have time for his girlfriend ~ Being accustomed to the flow of the concert, soft ballads like 一首簡單的歌 , 你不在 , 唯一, 愛的鼓勵, and “Can you feel my world” were trailing behind accompanied by his piano performance after the heart-pumping action.

MUSIC-MAN continued to demonstrate his showmanship by conquering the audiences with more surprises. This time round it was unexpected magic show when the man disappearing from the stage via a “magic box” and re-appearing at the back or the centre of the crowd. We had the privilege to witness the “behind-the-stage” action due to our seats location, where LeeHom was actually being drove by the management motorcycle with white cloth covering the top of him and quickly reappeared on the box at the centre of the crowd. Salute to the man’s impressive hardwork just to make it happen!

Coming to an end, the MUSIC-MAN got a standing ovation and fans shouted for encore for him to come back on stage. Shortly, MR.NICE MAN returned and sang some encore pieces: 放開你的心 , 愛你等於愛自己 and 大城小愛 . The mischievous Leehom cited the swine flu and apologised for not kissing his fans one by one and thus bid goodbye via his last song of the night “Kiss Goodbye”. We were all left feeling contented at that night and it was indeed a spectacular and brilliant show. KUDOS to MUSIC-MAN, MUSIC-MAN rocks!!!

Just had a giant bowl of noodles and some prawn fritters...at 12.30 am. Ish ish. I guess I should really consider taking Fiber Full Candy. Anyone heard of it?

Since I can't sleep now, allow me to crap abit while digesting the heavy supper.

Well, since the day I signed the "master-slave" agreement with you-know-who, virtual shopping has become my primary entertainment and lepak place.

What attracts me to online shopping is the abundance of great items which we seldom find in physical stores. For example, the Fiber Full Candy. It's a fruits candy that claims to have appetite suppressing effect. Too good to be true? Erm, I have no idea how effective it is but many users are satisfied with it.

Besides candy, there are many more products which might sound funny but interesting and highly sought after. For example, Skin 79 BB Cream (cosmetic), Balo Coffee Whitening Shower Mud, Yuan Soap, Korean Charcoal Mask, and Monrose (skin care).

These items are hotly talked about in forum and many girls are crazy about them.

"Boobs enlarged 3 cms in 5 days!", "I lost 6 kgs in a week!", "My skin becomes fairer", "No more hunchback" are some testimonials from users.

Walao, boobs enlarged 3 cms in 5 days?! Most of us would frown upon the statement and appear sceptical as I did.

But when I saw the seller posted her own before&after nude picture showing her breasts followed by continuous floods of positive feedbacks, I realised it could be serious.

As I dive deeper into the forum threads, I find the pleasure of browsing through sales threads and discover various interesting stuff there.

Well, although I proclaim myself as online shopping addict, I am still very much a "screen-shopper" (vs. window-shopper).

Unlike offline transaction, online purchase requires more research, skills, time, and attention in order to prevent being a victim of scam and cheated by irresponsible and unethical sellers.

Thus far, I have bought only books, bag and health supplement. At this moment, I am considering Monavie (health drink) as a gift for my mum in conjunction with Mother's Day next week.

Besides, I am about to order some beauty tools from Taiwan... sandals from Bali.. and bags! (They are irresistable!).

Clothes are super nice and cheap but I rather not take the risk.

Gals, if you have not stepped into any online malls, it's good you stay away from this highly-addictive place.

Day 267: Ivan's Burfday Celebration

On 20th of March, Ivan, an East Timor who's da same scholarship holder as I m, invited us to his 20th burfday celebration~
So we ended up exploring da nearest restaurants close to our campus~
His Chinese buddies, Henry & Peng Jie joined us along wif Sasha's former roomate, Christina, who's oso one of da scholarship holders~
Da grilled spicy chicken dish was best & after da dinner, we headed to k-oke room to de-strez~
The area is one of da popular hangout spots among students from our campus, coz lotsa bars, restaurants, cafes & k-okes~From left: Peng Jie, Ivan & Henry~
Great interior design, wif comfy cushion for everyone 2 dive in n jump while singing 2 metal songs!!

Everyone left except juz few of us, coz different unis & while singing to some Malay ballads, this is da pa lia MV tat came along wif it~

Day 268: Gals' Day Out

2 weeks after moving to Seoul, Mariko-onni called up for gals' day out with Yuki-onni & Liang Zhong-onni for lunch & shopping spree~Mariko-onni even showed us some of her wedding albums, wedding photo albums gifts made by her frens & souvenir for me after her recent trip back to Japan~
After a delicious grilled chicken, which I had 2 days in a row, Yuki-onni left to join her hubby & 3 of us headed to popular Kangnam Terminal Underground Shopping for some de-strezing~
Mariko-onni wif her black raven hair & Liang Zhong-onni wif her longer hair~
We took a 2omins walk around & found Mariko-onni took a nap in a mid of Saturday crowd while waiting for us!!! Eventually she left early to meet her hubby as well & 2 of us spent almoz half day exploring da paradise of best bargains~
Da best part is da home decorations, where there are rows of shops selling from antiques to flowers to sofas & even fake fruits!!!
I bought da bag I wanted for 25,000won (RM60) & a pair of heels for less than RM50 plus a cardigan under RM 40~Definitely da best place to shop but NOT during da weekends coz we barely survived da trampling women trying to get da best bargains~A recent pic of myself in my dorm for eye candy (^_^)

Day 250: Back To University

How ironic that when I was working, all of u were busy as students, & now that I m back 2 university life, everyone is already working for almoz 6months by now~

Found out SuperJunior's leader, LeeTeuk was there wif some MCs to film some outdoor game show, wif Konkuk students participating~Such activities are pretty common in Korean unis apparently, but Thank God it's not DBSK, or else I would hav been crushed to death, on da way to my dorm!!!

Two weeks ago, I went to Yaki Yaki Japanese BBQ Buffet restaurant located at Jln Bukit Bintang, next to Plaza Low Yat for a nightout with someone special whom I believe you galz have already been aware of this. Sorry if I did not inform beforehand to some and only got to know via facebook. As a replacement, I’ll keep you galz in the loop if I happen to go online for msn chat or for some prefer the personal touch a.k.a yum char session ^^

Niway, coming back, I've heard alot about Japanese steamboat buffet style restaurant like the very much hyped Jogoya and Shogun or even the upcoming, Soho at Mont Kiara. But, not so much on BBQ ala buffet style. Being a novelty, we thought of giving it a shot and the 50% discounts valid till the end of April is a further encouragement. It’s still not too late for some of you who wish to try and whom have been following up with this blog quite closely ^^

Less said and more pictures, here goes:

I like the ambience, it's new for obvious reason and has a restaurant and bar appealing concepts. Niway, our aim of the day was to check out the food install for us. The only thing I do not like about it was I was near the BBQ stove and was flushing and profuse sweating throughout that night. Not a recommended place if you are on your first date especially if you under heavy wake-up. Else, your make-up melts faster than M&M's.

Parading my all time favourite: sashimi, salmon, oysters, scallops and jellyfish. The fresh oysters were huge and fresh and the taste is simply refreshing with a squeeze of lime juice. Oishi^^ I had five for the night and restrained galloping too many for fear of diarrhea. Later I had a plate full of sashimi and scallops that I vowed not to take anymore sashimi and scallops for life hehe Maybe?

Moving on, the sushi was good although I did not have a lot that night for fear of over filled. I enjoyed the salmon sushi the most. The rest you see on the plate were so-so. If you are wondering, the maki behind was not made with soft shell crab. I must admit I was tricked into taking it because it certainly looked like soft shell crab maki.. but in fact it was just fried prawns.

Others BBQ raw materials, the usual dead meats that are too many to be named and roll on the pictures for a better and vivid view. I did not really enjoyed BBQ food and thus not much descriptions are given in this case but overall not too bad. The likeliness also subject to BBQ skills as a matter of fact~

Last but not least, the tempting dessert and ironically the most deserted section with an array of varieties ranging from Chinese herbs, jelly to ice-cream. Not rally up to par thought probably lacking of Haagen Dazs. But, again, what to expect from that price? Overall, I think the buffet was OK for me for the discounted price of RM49.90. I have to admit I am not a big fan of BBQ, but the price is worth it if you are in for the BBQ with a lot of meats, oyster, sashimi and scallops.

A brand new start in Adelaide (sort of)

Hey guys, its me, I've been away from d blog for so long, guess I'll need a VERY long time to go through the previous posts by y'all. Internet expenses in Aus is pretty expensive, and I felt reluctant to upload too many pics from my room. So, I'll have to come down to uni and use their network (not accessible from my place, although still within uni premises...duh)

It's always hard to leave family and friends behind whenever one has to leave for a yet another year of studying/working overseas. It felt so good to be at home, where I need not work, wash, cook, study for myself. Returning the chores to my mum (Love ya heaps mum!) for a while, it was heaven!! Even my waistlines are so contented with themselves that they are bloating proudly with happiness :)

This time I came back with Airasia, and thought I'll share my experiences with you guys. Arriving in LCCT, one can see very well where most of the government finances are heading. It's a far cry from the glamorous KLIA, but it's definitely not a drawback from this thriving airline to have lines and lines of passengers waiting for check in at the terminals. Thanks to them, now everyone can fly!!! Gwailos, students, migrants all patiently queued, and the plane was packed!!!

The plane itself was pretty brand new, with seats just nice for the average sized Asians like us. Myth has it that Airasia does not have reclining seats on board, from my experiences, it's true. However, clever designers had an even better idea. To make passengers happy but to maintain optimal seating space, they made the seats slide forward instead!! I reckon it's an ingenious idea, one can have sort of a reclined seat just by sliding it to the front with your bum. That's what was written in the instructions manual, sounding so easy and I haven't managed to do it throughout my flight :) Oh well...
Duration of flight: about 8 hrs.
Seating pattern: 3 x3 x3 (3 on left, 3 in middle, 3 on right)

You will have to pay extra for in-flight entertainment called
xCite, for RM 30. Didn't bother to use it. And guess I'm not alone :) That's it, too poor to get xCite!!
There was a free chatroom where passengers can chat with each other to kill boredom, and it's pretty cool!!
The icon captions are pretty misleading as well, sounds seducing, if you know what I mean :)

The flight was scheduled to land in Melbourne at 0030 hrs, and I waited and slept at the airport to catch the earliest domestic plane back to Adelaide a few hours later. Not a very nice experience, but for the sake of money, wouldn't mind doing it once in a while. Was pretty worn out by the time of check in, I was greeted by this...

Nothing much has changed in Adelaide since the last time I was here. I checked into the uni townhouse, a 3 bedroom 2-storey house, and realised that I got the smallest room in the house!!! Like 1/4 smaller than the rest leh, plus we all pay the same room rent!! Still, it's not too bad so far cos I'll be moving out end of the year anyway...
At last, I'll have a chance to experience the real uni life.

I'm now sharing with another Msian gal, from Sabah, currently doing 2nd yr in Nursing, and another room was occupied by a Kazakhstan gal, very pretty, tall n slim. She came over with their government scholarship, and she had to go to Melbourne to continue her studies. The government only informed her last minute, and she had to leave most of her things behind, and forfeited all her housing rent and bond to start afresh over there...poor thing.
The only souvenir she left for me...now remains embedded in my memory...and body :) Kazakhstan chocolate...very nice!

I think that's all for now, got to do my piling assignments already, will try update more.!!

Work: The power of numbers~

Everything in this world carries a number and each number possesses its own frequency or vibration, according to numerologist-cum-chiropractor Dr Lenis Dimitrios.

At Boston Restaurant in Mont Kiara, he presented his theories of the power of numeral and how numbers affect one's life to members of the media, complemented with several live demonstrations.

I listened to his one-hour speech with increasing interest as his presentation was very interesting and informative slotted with a healthy amount of humor, sufficient to keep the audience entertained.

While I do not really believe in the conventional numerology that associates numbers to certain personalities, Dr Lenis has somehow changed my perception towards the modern-edge concept and mechanism of numerology.

Hailed from Greece, Dr Lenis believes in the country's ancient code of "Knowing Yourself" in order to live a quality life. As he believes every single object - from clothes to food to physical materials - carries a number of its own frequency, the level of this frequency plays an important role in our daily lives to such extent that it determines what is good and bad for us. Sounds complicated?

Well, what's interesting is the notion that numbers can even be used to identify one's allergy! You may call it nonsense but Dr Lenis made it so logical and sensible. He isn't a witchdoctor but a real one. In fact, he was the doctor for top Olympic athletes in Greece.

A-mei's hand is silky smooth~

Never in my wildest dream that I picture myself meeting the Taiwanese pop diva A-mei and shake her silky smooth hand! And had a classy supper several metres from A-mei as well as the elites such as bosses, corporate heads, dancers etc.

Her concert was superb! Although I was too worn out to cheer, scream and sing along with the 30,000 excited fans, her fantastic showmanship and stage charisma had far exceeded my expectation. I enjoyed the show.

A-mei had left a memorable concert experience for me as it was my first time watching a concert, despite on a fairly pitiful purpose i.e. work.

Nevertheless, I now realised that I wouldn’t feel asphyxiating sitting among huge crowd, eardrums being constantly abused by the magnificent amplifiers and loud speakers, eyes sore due to the annoying handheld fluorescent thingamajig which seemed to move frantically and in multi-directions.

Back to the post-concert celebration scene, the people in the dining room looked unusually energetic in the wee hour.

I guess it was just me and my senior who were visibly exhausted. After a day's of hectic work setting up booth and distributing flyers to the visitors in the drizzle.

I felt so “withered”, at the same time ashamed of my outlook – unkempt hair, oily face and sticky body.

Furthermore, imagine yourself dining among The Elegant, The Famous, The Rich, while you wearing faded jeans, sports shoes and cheap tee-shirt.

Two seats away from me, a skimpily-dressed lady was showing off her new LV tote to her friend, chatting in obvious fake manner.

I arrived at home 3 o’clock in the morning; had a quick shower, blow dried my hair and went into deep slumber...dreamt of myself watching MTVs with A-mei...

Andrea was at the concert too (but we didn't get to meet up). Now, let's see if she has got something to share with us here =)

Day 241: Farewell Suwon~

When I left home for Suwon 8 months ago, da thought of adapting in a new environment was mixed of excitement & curiosity, as it was my first time living abroad by myself. It took me 2months adjusting to new life in Suwon, where I made great frens & experienced my 1st-times, but da heaviness in my heart surfaced again as I packed up again to head for Seoul for good~
This is Joo Hyeon, my Korean tutor, who volunteered 2 teach me during my stay in Suwon~Misssss her cute face so much~~On my final Sunday service at my church, my frens brought me to TGiF for delicious western lunch-farewell party~
Although it's been only 3weeks since I moved to Seoul, I went back twice to visit them & seems like it has become my hometown now~

Due to work, none of my frens could come 2 help, but even I can't believe I MOVED all these from 5th floor to da ground floor!!!!

In just four days, I have gained astonishing amount of weight - far more than what I have had shed in 3 months time. Wtf.

This morning, I followed my team leader (considered as boss also), my senior and one manager to Johor to visit one of our outlets there. My senior doesn't like travelling but I was crazy for it. Staying in the office is tad boring (no matter how many things you have to do). Making myself clear to them of such huge weakness even before employment, they know how much I adore them for bringing me out of the "cage".

Although we didn't spend a lot of time in Johor as we had to rush back to handle other stuff, I was happy enough. Except one thing.

I was requested to do food-testing (Well, life is full of ironies). Alrite. I know many of you would be jumping roof-high upon hearing that. But you girls know me. Period.

My boss, on behalf of us, ordered wantan noodles, seafood congee, dolly fish baked riced, beef noodles, kaya and butter toast, four-flavour toast, orange smoothies, ice-coffee and nasi lemak. And I somehow gotta test little bit of everything so that I could produce a good write-up.
So, did I test them all?

Of course not. Just half spoonful of two dishes (Nevertheless, the food was ho chak). Earlier, my generous boss treated us the proclaimed famous pork noodles in Seremban. And even before that, I had my usual breakfast which I estimated could last till lunch.

Back to the office, I received two pieces of fresh Ferrero Rocher (Oh, no! enough for the week) from one of my colleagues who was leaving for another company.

HOW AM I GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT? Oh noooooooo...

First day work~

My first morning at work was greeted with with warm smiles and friendly faces. I was shown around the premise and introduced to colleagues and some important visitors. Sitting right below the air-cond, I was glad for picking the old but warm coat over the newly-bought collared top sponsored by my eldest brother.

There wasn't much to do as until about lunch time when I was assigned by my senior to do a write-up while she was busy with incessant business calls and piles of work. In fact, she was the busiest person in the office as far as I could notice.

Bosses were easy going, no hint of power-showing or arrogance.

How to control myself ?? I could live happily for 210 days without shopping, movie, music, television and sex but NOT a day without Internet surfing ! This is ridiculous...

Day 239: Last Day of Class Wif My Classmates

My final Level 4 Korean class was held last week & wif my great bunch of goofballs as classmates, we went 2 da buffet 4 some early celebration~
Coincidentally, tat day was Yuki's burfday, who's a Japanese married to Korean & da oldest of us all~
During da 8months in AjouLanguageCenter, they made da best classmates of all, as laughter & jokes never ceased from our daily classes~
Despite most of them from China, there were 2 Japaneses, me M'sian & another Mongolian & most of us are pretty much mature than da other classes~
From left: Shin Ho Ten, a Mongolian joker in class & Mariko, da best student who's almost married to Korean few months earlier~
Da only boys: Shin Ho Ten, Kung Min (everyone knows he got a crush on one of da teachers), Ban Ban, who always sounds like grandpa but he's smart as one (...and yess, it's his real name....) & Liang Zhong & Shin Ho Ten are always bickering at each other humorously in class~
Our class teacher, Ms Hwang, joined us for da first 2 hours, Wang Bong & Ak Jung (both r da cute gals in class), Yuki & Mariko~
Mariko has da best humour among da females, despite in any situations & da delicious burfday cake was sponsored by da boys~

Another New Beginning In Seoul

******UPDATE on Feb 12th: Sorry gals, I can't leave the country this year to return home, as I ned to complete another 6months of KoreanLanguage while doing my degree, which means I will be spending my summer break in class (T_____________________T)*sob*sob*sob*So~I might be able to return in late Dec 2009/early Jan 2010 for CNY~AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Da university admission has already been confirmed & Praise God as I will be enrolling into my first choice of uni, KonkukUniversity, which is ranked as one of da famous uni for arts & design in SEOUL!!!! On this Thursday, it will be my first visit to that uni for my 1st briefing prior my enrollment in this spring~
At da KonkukUniversity, I will be pursuing Communication Design for da coming 4 years & for da first semester, I have no choice but to stay on campus dorm~By da end of da month, I will be moving out from Suwon to Seoul!!!!
As much as I m excited of moving into the city, my heart feel heavy to leave my current family in Suwon, who has been my pillar of strength in foreign land~This is Min Ji, my churchmate's daughter whom I babysit occasionally~She's a super cute goofball wif unbelievable cute curls & she & her other 2 cute siblings are great stress-relievers~
After 7months of adapting well in Suwon, another beginning awaits me in Seoul, where I will meet my new classmates, new churchmates, new teachers, new environment & maybe a new me~Will I be able to adapt well again?
By late March, Shelly will be joining me in Korea for 5years too, as she had juz received da same scholarship as mine. With another 5scholarship recipients, they will be attending KoreanLanguage course for a year before their 4-year degree course~If any of u has loveletters or credit cards for me, u r welcomed to pass them to Shelly oh~

This is a work out of boredom on a Monday morning.

When one wants to do something in a place where there really isn't much to do, one will tend to find some pleasure from whatever task one is engaged in.

During my stay in Penang, I have done a lot of observation and people-watching. Tortoise-watching adds in the list.

Don't get me wrong. It doesn't mean I like tortoise. In fact, I find them ugly.

However, watching them swimming in the water and resting on the land makes me think about the power and creativity of The Almighty.

These tortoises live in a small temple behind my grandma's low-cost flat. In general, tortoise carries a symbol of longevity which is a good thing in life (though I don't think so). Anyway, facing a vast land of Chinese cemetery, surely I'll turn to these ugly tortoises rather than taking in air in front of hundreds of dead bodies. Furthermore, it was first day of the Chinese New Year.

Guess what, even such "wu liao" experience taught me something. The above picture is a "kam qin kwei", a species which is believed to bring wealth. It's differentiated from others by the shape of the shell. Those of flat shell have got no value and therefore abundant. I guess most Chinese know about it.

"People tend to steal this type of tortoise because it carries a prosperous symbol," said one lady who works in the temple.

"There are only two left in this pond now," she added, pointing to another bigger one in a short distance.

You see...even in a holy place like temple, people could commit such an offence.

Can you see the differences now? =)

Korean New Year Celebration

My year marks lotsa my 1st-times, foremost, celebrating my Chinese New Year away from family & close frens, enrolling into university for my degree, moving out 2 live & MOST IMPORTANT is staying in Seoul soon~Apparently, New Year in Korea happens to fall on the coldest season of all & heavy snow started juz few days before New Year, causing lotsa traffic jam, as well as beautiful scenes on campus~

A day before New Year, we had Sunday service as usual, but wif some members dressed in traditional wear, hanbok & kids received New Year money after performing the bowing custom 2 our church pastor~
Lotsa cute kids in hanbok & this gal showed me da mini snowman she made~
By afternoon, heavy downpour of snow began until late evening, while we cozy up indoor, playing traditional games & enjoying some traditional snacks~
After a long day on Sunday, I slept over at Jae Hee onni's home 2 join her family & relatives on New Year celebration on da next day~
Early morning of 9am, Jae Hee's dad, older sis: Yang Hee onni, Jae Hee onni & I, arrived at Jae Hee onni's eldest aunt's home 2 meet her relatives & watched wif curiosity as they performed da traditional ceremony of fillial piety towards their ancestors~
Her aunt was camera-shy but super-nice & by the time these pics were taken, it WAS our 2nd meal of da day, as they kept chatting while eating after da breakfast until 5pm. Despite our language barrier, it was surprising of how much they know about da world, M'sia & education~
Despite da simple dishes compared 2 what I usually have for CNY in M'sia, their warmth & hospitality can't be described in words~
Initially, I planned 2 stay only one night at her home, but eventually, I stayed for another nite coz she wanted me 2 visit her cousin on da next day. Her cousin, turned out 2 b a housewife-professional cook, specialized in Korean food (means she has the licence!!!) & we met wif her other cousins as well, had great chat & ate so much til forgot 2 take pics on da 2nd day~During those nites, I slept on heated floor wif juz blankets while watching movies on monitors wif her & ate cornflakes+milk for dinner, but for da first time, I felt da coziness of home despite thousands miles away from mine~
Not long after returning from celebrating wif my Korean frens, I joined others 2 visit some vacation camp in outskirts~
After 2hours drive, we met up wif a fren, who's staff there & he showed us ard~
This place is popular as getaway or company/students motivation camp & thus, da accomodation is absolutely comfy & homey~

It took me almoz 30mins 2 get all da way up, due 2 da slippery trail & da weather was juz great for a walk outdoor~

On Huey's last day in Penang, we managed to meet up and paid a visit to the Cina Peranakan Mansion in Church Street.

We learnt a lot about the lifestyles of Cina Peranakan but could share only a bit here.

There was a tour guide who loaded us with information but I didn't really listen to him because I was busy snapping hehe. The entire place was just too impressive.

After spending whole day watching television at home on chor1, ku che and I went to The Amusement World, a casino cruise on the next day.

I was there solely to accompany my ku che who loves to play the jackpot. She could practically sit in front of the money-sucking machine for a whole day *salute* Fortunately, there were many hot guys working in the casinos - at least my eyes were doing something ^^.

I am having a terrible fever and no mood to elaborate further. After all, it's old updates.

Chor 3 was an exciting day for SQRT ~ too bad Chelle was far in Korea(hows ur CNY there?) n Bunny was still in Penang...tho v were lacking of homo sapiens, v still enjoyed ourselves to d fullest...

our outing started as early as 10.40am when i fetched Huey from home...heading to MV to grab tickets for d CNY movie " All's Well End's Well 2009'...a rili worth-to-b-watched-movie for dis CNY as v were filled will laughters from starting till d ending of d movie...b4 our movie started, v managed to fiil up our stomach at Lil' Vietnam (recomended by May)...

Not to be missed was d CNY decos at MV..

Our pai nin trip 1st stop was May's hse afta d movie...v made it a must for us to capture at least 1 picture at each of our home^^ juz for Chelle n Bunny =)

Next was Andrea's home...tho it was raining very heavily...but nothing can stop us!!wuahahaha...

Noticed y oni d 3 of them in d picture but not me and Huey?they were actually comparing their height! wanted to noe who is d shortest among them.haha..opps, i mean d tallest^^

Day 189: Goodbye 2008~

I spent da last day of 2008 at church due to Wednesday service, 2 hours later, I was on my way to a skiing camp with my churchmates~
They wanna tried something new for da new year, so after da new year countdown, we had an almoz 2-hour drive to another state, to watch da sunrise in da new year~
Unfortunately, I din expect to join them on this trip, rite after da service & almoz frozen to death on da peak of da skiing camp~
Lotsa Koreans arrived early NOT for skiing or snowboarding, but 2 watch da sunrise as well~
Everyone was shivering in cold, as cold wind blew & 30mins after da sunrise, I can barely feel my foot anymore~

On da way down, there was a long queue, so we kept warm in another building before q-ing up again~

Despite da economic crisis, everyone was out on public holiday wif families & friends to enjoy the all-time fav winter sports~
40mins later, we drove towards a hill for something grand~
Super great views of da windmills tat remind me of some melodramatic Korean drama scenes, where a couple spent their last moments~
By then, da sun was way high up & despite da freezing temperature up there, da sunray was too much to bear & stopped by a highway stop, on da way back to Suwon~

Upon reaching Suwon, we had a sumptuous traditional Korean dinner, where we were served wif at least 10 different sidedishes & a main dish!!!

The Esplanade~

Next to the Fort Cornwallis is the Taman Kota Lama aka The Esplanade.

Taking a stroll at this place is relaxing.

In those days on Chap Goh Mei, men would gather at this place to watch the procession of Nyonya maidens - who stayed at home at all times - and propose to marry them. The girls would alight from their carriages to throw oranges into the sea, wishing for a good match.

These days, the place is frequented by couples and tourists. I love the seaview!

Caring Penangites~

While standing in the bus, I noticed a long rectangular screen above the dashboard with public service announcements such as ‘Please take good care of your belongings’, Helping others is a good virtue – offer your seats to the people-in-need’, ‘Keep good sanitation – throw rubbish into the rubbish box’ and ‘Please don’t smoke in the bus’.

Besides, it also shows the current time and temperature despite less accurate. I don’t see such features in Rapid KL buses. This kind of reminders may not be an effective way to educate the members of the society. Nevertheless, it’s a good move.

It’s interesting to find that the bus ticket here could also be used as voucher to purchase a particular product say, a bottle of mineral water for only RM0.20 *gasp*.

The interior of the bus is also specifically designed for the convenience of the disabled. Although this disabled-friendly structure is available in KL, yet the number is minimal or limited to only certain areas.

Another pleasant discovery is that the elderly in Penang Island are very much taken care of. While the Chinese New Year is approaching, temples, churches and certain private companies would give away free rice and ang pow to them. All they have to do is register their names beforehand. At the end of the day, the balanced (if any) would then be sent to the doorstep of those non-registered.

The other night, such giveaways were held in Rifle Range where my grandma stays. The elderly were entertained with musical performances and firecrackers were lit up. They were delighted and joyful.

Grandma told me that there are many more places in Penang where these ‘freebies’ are offered.

Are Penangites more caring than city slickers or is it just different way of expression? Hm...

A little loop from my side on da’ latest happening for pre-CNY celebration. Me and colleagues went to Dragon-i in Pavillion lately to celebrate CNY a little earlier with tossing of “Yee Sang” . Dis was my 2nd time in Dragon-i for special occasion luncheon with colleagues and i must really said that it costs a bomb with normal dishes servings. The ambience was nice but not so much on the food especially when you can get the same and perhaps better Chinese dishes from other Chinese restaurants. And da’ “Yee Sang” tastes like pre-pack ones. I’m not a food critic and are usually easy going wif food but da dishes are not worth da’ price unless u r da’ type dat prefer ambience over food quality ;p Anyhow, to fully utilise every penny my team spend on dis restaurant, i’ve capture the ambience of da restaurant which i guess included in da bill Hahahaha sO kiasu...

On a random note, I went to da’ premier of da’ movie “The Wedding Game” with my colleagues in Pavillion and saw some local artistes who were there to support the event. I managed to take a snippet with Daniel Tan, a local model who is cute & tall^^ Back home, i’m not willing to wash my blouse ;p

Credits given to Pavillion management for liven up the mood for CNY wif the ubiquitous cherry blossom flowers in the concourse area. Instead of da’ usual red colour, pink is chosen as the theme colour thus giving a youthful outlook to da’ new generation of CNY. The overall ambience is simple and romantic and I’m lovin’ it ^^

Fort Cornwallis~

Located at the cornerstone of Georgetown, I paid a visit to this historical place on one evening. Fort Cornwallis is the best-preserved fort in the Peninsular Malaysia. Above is the statue of Francis Light. This is the place where he first landed in Penang to conquered the island.

Visitors are allowed to ride on this beautiful horse.
Until today, this fort still houses many genuine structures such as the canons.

Seri Rambai Canon is one of the major attractions here. This canon is believed to have power in association with woman's fertility. Barren women offer flowers and food and made their wishes in front of this huge bronze canon.

The white structure called 'gunpowder magazine' is the place where explosives were stored.

I spent about 30 minutes touring around and left contentedly with the new input of knowledge. The entrance fee of mere RM3 is definitely worth it.

Sight-seeing~

On my second day of arrival in Penang, I took a bus to jety in Weld Quay which is also the Rapid Penang bus terminal. Carrying a laptop and holding a map book, I walked around the vicinity for three hours and found some pleasure of solo sight-seeing.

I never thought a place like jetty can be so beautiful and relaxing. In my mind, it's a dirty and smelly place.

QEII is a plush bistro which serves (apparently) a lot of nice food. According to one of the waiters, Friday is ladies night and customers will be entertained with performances.

If sqrt have the chance to come to Penang, I believe QEII would be a great place to hang out at night.

The sky was lit up with spectacular fireworks, filling the clear dark blanket with man-made stars. Outside the Star Village, all heads were up watching the beautiful creation.

Out of sudden, one of the cafe servants shoved several bottles of party ribbons to us. And the next thing we knew was strings of ribbons and flakes flying across the air and we were having some sort of attack, docking and running like mad cows.

Wishes echoed throughout the chemical-scented air.

That was the beginning of the year 2009.

“Hey, what’s you guy’s new year resolution? Let’s start from Munkit la” Catherine popped out the tough question to us.

“I wanna become a dai jek lou”, answered Kitchai spontaneously.

Huey hopes to complete her degree with flying colours.

“I wanna be mew theu”, said the already mew-theu Catherine with a giggle.

I didn’t have to tell mine because Catherine, my unofficial spokesperson had done the job so well.

“As usual, your (me) resolution is to lose more weight!”

That night, Huey brought along her Taiwan friend, Lily to join our small gathering but I think she must have felt outcast or that we didn’t show enough friendliness. For that, I feel bad. (p/s:
Huey, hope we didn’t bore Lily to slumber)

After finishing our drinks and the ever-shrinking portion of French Fries, we headed to Station 1 Cafe in Kuchai Lama where we played chor dai di and Uno stack.

One crazy punishment was to call strangers whose number had been scribbled on the wood stacks. Huey and I lost but thankfully, the numbers we selected were not in service. Phew.

At one round, Huey lost and had to leave her mobile number on the stack. (Huey, did you receive any call so far? Hehe)

Earlier, I had to stuff three fish balls as I lost in the first round. Darn. Already broke my diet rules on the first day of 2009. Talk about losing weight...sigh.

Anyway, new year, new dreams, new resolution, and not to forget new rule, fellow Malaysians. Buckle up!

December Updates

While my KoreanProficiencyTestSeoul is around da corner, my body has finally succumbed to da winter flu bug & down wif extreme flu+sorethroat & I can't cook as often as I can due to tight schedule lately. These are some pics taken on the day when me & So Un onni went to Myeongdong, Seoul to attend Jae Hee onni's jazz graduation performance~

After a hour plus, we arrived at da art performing centre in Myeongdong & ushered to the hall where family members of graduates can enter, before other audience~
Instead of getting flowers, we bought her a small cake, as gift 4 her & da performance is FOC for us too!!!
We waited for another 20mins before the medium size center was filled wif family members & frens of graduates, as well as music producers, professors & enthusiastic music students~
The show began wif the performance by Big Band, who performed great instrumental show, followed by solo performances & vocal performances, accompanied by the Big Band~
After 2 hours plus, it's finally Jae Hee's onni performance on da keyboard & rite after her show, we went out 2 congratulate her, before catching a ride home wif a fren who came later than us~
Being a typical Chinese, who grew up wif soy sauce & herbs, is no matter how bad cook I m, soy sauce & chicken are DEFINITELY a foolproof recipe~In winter, beef stew on the right is absolutely delicious & I m becoming so Koreanized lately to say no to such delicacy~

I spent da whole day hanging out at her place, doing homework, chatting, etc...~
XMas deco along da park on campus & me all dressed up to attend a church event recently~Bought myself a knee-length boots, which are super warm+great wif my dresses!!!
Thank God!!! I m not putting on weight this winter & instead, lost another 2kg, mebe after trying da banana diet or juz coz of da stress these days. These recent pics are taken on average eyeview instead of my usual fav 45 degrees. Hopefully can lose more b4 coming back next summer~More updates after my test on Jan 8!!!! Pray for me yah~

Day 158: Gyeongbok Palace

With so many late posts to blog, I think I shud begin with the longest one on my visit to one of da Korea's renowned tourist attractions: Gyeongbok Palace~Winter is freezing here but not enough to make me put on my long john yet. Apparently, for Koreans, it's better not to dress warmly during this early winter, as temperature will dip even more in Jan, so by then, putting on 3-layers of clothes might not b enough to keep me warm if I start doing tat now~
Went on the trip wif Anna during my short break after da Level 2 has ended & before my 6-day crash course in Level 3 began over da skol break~
The best part of travelling in South Korea is despite da language barrier, finding the popular tourist spots is not that difficult, as most of da subway/ bus stops are linked to those famous tourists' attractions, juz like this Gyeongbokgung subway is 10mins walk to the palace~
Lucky for us, our arrival met the right timing of da traditional guard-changing procession in front of da palace~
On da way in, Anna told me that someone told her that if we have been to one of da palaces in Korea, it will be more than enough, as all are da same & I tot it was a joke~
Hmmm....well...sorta....
Until we finished touring da entire palace, which oso looked pretty much da same as da one we visited previously, except it's bigger and there's a National Folk Arts Museum behind this palace~
Ancient garden decos & traditional houses displaying materials used by ancient people~
12 animal zodiac statues with a feng shui compass outside da museum~
As there's 2 entrances in Gyeongbok Palace, we went out thru da gate near Samcheong-dong street to look for da famous sujabi house recommended by K-Popped earlier~
Art galleries, cafes & assorted posh restaurants can be seen along the street of Samcheong-dong~
Small jewelry shop too~
After searching for 20mins, we finally found da famous sujabi house & da flour flakes in seafood broth was delicious & da shop was full house that nite!!!
Toykino, a small yet cute toy museum along da cafes but it was closed on Monday~

We were planning 2 visit Namsan Tower for da nite scenery but upon reaching the cable car station, we realized tat we can't go up to the Namsan Tower due to some repair work in da process & some taxi drivers there were trying 2 charge us 10times more to send us down to our subway station. Fortunately, a taxi came up in time 2 save us & although taxis can go all da way up to the tower, they can't do so unless they are sending foreigners up there & the foreigners have to bring their passports along as identifications!!!
Eventually, we decided to juz hang out at Myeongdong & enjoyed our yummy ice-cream waffle~

2200: Little Tree~

Remember Cafe 2046 in Kuchai Lama the place we used to gather at? Andrea and I paid a visit to this memorable cafe after about a year and surprised to see the cafe has turned into Little Tree Cafe.

Andrea said it might due to a change of ownership wo..hehe. As I am typing this, she is sitting beside me savouring a plate of Fresh Vegetable Salad and mushroom soup (her dinner).

Perhaps, people are opting for Go Green concept these days, hence the name Little Tree Cafe. The interior structure remains. However, ANDREA TOOK OVER FROM HERE....HAHAHA....

Gosh, i couldnt stand it any longer. Here i was savouring my salad & Bunny was taking FOREVER to write tis simple blog!!! She keeps on drafting & deleting& writing & pondering....duh...get a life gal.... u r not writing a THESIS FOR GOD SAKE!!!!

Sorry galz for the delayed entry and keep you all waiting for the pics that I’ve promised earlier…I’ve been occupied wif sum stuffs and indulge myself in the carnival sales…FYI, I’ve been making a hoo-haa about the masquerade ball few weeks back and I hoped I did not bored you galz wif my stories and to offset the boredom, I have posted some pizzies in dis blog.. Have a good savour then ^^

Prior to the event, the Christmas committee has organized loads of games to warm up the festive season. One of my interest is none other than Secret Santa, I guess most of the females co-workers enjoyed the game most when we received prezzies & gifts from unidentified ‘Secret Santa’… We were excited wif da’ surprised gifts and studying the meaning for unusual gifts (*subject to the creativity for each department)

A brief intro on the game itself if you galz are interested to play it among your group of relatives/ friends/co-workers…Being the first timer, I’m rather blur wif da’ rules of da’ game but dis is roughly how we played the game….

The X’mas committee (self-appointed) will go around two weeks before the Christmas party with a box of names for us to pick. All ME staffs are required to pick a name from the box and we shall not reveal the name that we’ve picked till the Christmas party. I’ve chosen a guy from other department and of different floor as my ‘child’ and apparently some guy from other department and of different floor was my Secret Santa (SS)… So, to cut nanny story short; I’m basically the SS to the person that I’ve picked and at the same time the ‘child’ to my other Secret Santa… Nvm, if you don’t understand as you can feel free to leave a comment for further enquiries ;p Coming back, as a SS I need to shower my ‘child’ with gifts, songs (optional), flowers (if I could afford it) and even poem (sorry, I’m not that poetry) to brighten their dayz…Niway, it really depends to creativity… Well, it seems like my creativity is limited due to budget…Sorry, I’m not a good SS ;p

Finally, we have to bring a special gift for our SS on the Christmas ball when we reveal ourselves on dat day… Little note, our team being an inquisitive bunch, we’ll secretly check wif da’ committee on our SS’s gender to get an appropriate gift and we’ll try to dig as much info as possible about our SS…*Hint Hint*

For the past two weeks, I received surprised gifts; mint sweet, chewing gum, Tibet souvenier and even Readers Digest from my SS…I would say my SS is rather unusual and intellectual or me looking like one? Ehem, I guess the first one sounds more like it…Still, I did not expect to receive the last two thO…

Other than SS game to warm up the chilling festive season, we too had other games on the belt like BINGO game almost every week since last two weeks and the committee diligently airing Christmas songs at 5pm to spice up our mood…Surely, an awakening call wif da’ ‘Alisan’ Christmas song as the starter without failing…

Congratulations to the 21-year-old Russian beauty Ksenia Sukhinova who was crowned the Miss World 2008 at Johannesburgh, South Africa recently. The first runner-up was Miss India Parvathay Omanakuttan, 21 and second runner up Miss Trinidad and Tobago Gabriella Walcott, 23.

Although our Malaysian beauty Soo Wincci, 23, didn't make it (it's rather predicted I suppose), she is great.

Many may find her less outstanding compare to other contestants in the world standard but looking at the local standard, she is one whom we should feel proud of.

Perhaps I was attracted to her when I saw a picture of her wearing the "Jewel of the Pacific" evening gown designed by Carven Ong whose designs I adore very much. Unfortunately, the picture of that elegant gown was not found.

Oh, by the way, Miss Trinidad and Tobago has got huge bosoms which look "overly-firmed" and hence rather fake to me. Well, just wondering what type of bust-firming cream or technology she used.

Rain oh rain ~

While I dislike the sunny day, I find wet weather no better.

Heavy downpour is a nuisance to me, personally. I hate it the most when passing cars splash filthy water onto me when I am walking in the street. The water contains all sorts of dirt particles – dust, debris, mud, spit and even sh!t. Most of the time, it is unavoidable. Lorries and buses are the biggest culprits. They could practically shower you.

I am also afraid to get full-body wet in the public especially when it is “auntie-visit week”. It is sheer discomfort (That’s why babies cry when their diapers are wet) and ...worrisome that “the red paint” might spread across your pants.

And for now, the biggest issue is that my swimming regime is greatly affected! Argh. My body is already expanding like a balloon due to unusual huge appetite lately. My face too! Damn depressed. Oprah Winfrey says “You don’t have to be thin to be gorgeous”. I guess she is referring to breasts and buttocks.

However, I would love to watch the rain when I am with a novel. With the sound of raindrops hitting the window pane, sitting alone reading a book with a cuppa is most enjoyable. Nothing beats the sound of the nature, really. If we LISTEN to it.

In fact, one may find the rain romantic. Haven’t you watched couple in the movie walking, running, kissing or dancing in the rain? As Rachel Louise Carson (a marine biologist turned nature writer) put it, “A rainy day is the perfect time for a walk in the woods”.

Oh well, living in the capital of Malaysia doesn’t get you anywhere near that. When it rains, vehicles jam, road floods, and houses collapse due to landslides. Yes, it is true that the recent Bukit Antarabangsa landslides which killed four people and left many homeless is caused by the stubborn and irresponsible developers and the government, but the rain is a contributing factor.

While I am typing this, it’s raining (again) …wondering if there will be another news of landslide on tomorrow’s front page.
